As a young media organization, we’re obviously very proud to be staging our second annual Nearshore Nexus 
conference, coming up April 19 in New York City. There are lots of exciting features around the show (great speakers, sponsors, venue, and entertainment), but what I want to share here is why we’re making it “invitation only.”
Nearshore Nexus is specifically engineered to host an audience where more than 70% of attendees will be carefully reviewed outsourcing customers – people who call the shots and sign the deals for their corporations.
Exclusive Slideshow: Chile’s Pinera Talks Trade at New York City Gala
September 22nd, 2011Chile President Sebastian Pinera spoke to a group of over 300 politicians, diplomats, CEOs and media during an invitation-only gala Wednesday in New York City, at the exclusive Riverpark Restaurant on the banks of the East River. With trade volumes doubling since 2004 between the U.S. and Chile, Pinera stressed the importance of driving new economic growth between the two countries. CORFO and ProChile, two of the countries premiere investment agencies, hosted the event along with the North American-Chilean Chamber of Commerce.

Meet the Judges: Nearshore Americas’ Power 50

The 2011 edition of the Nearshore Americas’ Power 50 Ranking — identifying the most influential executives in the Nearshore outsourcing industry – will feature, for the first time, five judges who will review nominations and determine who makes the list and where they rank. The first edition of the Power 50 ranking premiered last year to an overwhelmingly positive response. The ranking strives to identify the most active, engaged and visionary executives in the $14 billion Nearshore business services market.
Nearshore Americas Helps Power New Softtek Blog

Nearshore Americas Appoints Managing Editor to Guide Growing Expansion
November 3rd, 2010Nearshore Americas, the fastest growing online media sourcing covering the offshore outsourcing industry on the globe today, has appointed Tarun George as its first ever managing editor. Tarun, who has previously served as senior editor, assumes an expanded role which includes overseeing editorial production and also managing Nearshore Americas’ growing list of custom media projects.

It’s not hard to remember back to 1995-1997, when the Internet boom began to gather some real traction. Firms like Netscape, Lucent and Cisco were suddenly red hot darlings that became emblematic of a new generation of Wall Street investment targets. There were plenty of skeptics of course who didn’t like the price-per-earnings ratios of these companies or didn’t believe the aggressive forecasts of top executives. And then there were the very real concerns about risks and the seeming intangibility of the Internet, backbone buildouts and why broadband mattered. Back then, Google had yet to be born and the eye-ball grabbing power of search was not really well understood.
So, what does the investment climate of the mid-90s have to do with 2010 investment in Nearshore outsourcing? Plenty and I’ll explain why.
