One type of IT professional in heavy demand in Brazil these days is the one with SAP experience. That demand heated up this week when IT consultancy Neoris announced that it has 60 vacancies in Brazil right now, and specified that “for most of them, it is necessary that the candidate has experience with the SAP platform.”

The new job postings include SAP senior consultant, SAP project manager, SAP workflow analyst, and SAP BI expert. The company said it is also looking for people with Oracle and .NET skills.

Neoris said applicants must be graduates of “colleges linked to technology,” and for some positions must be fluent in English.

The company, ranked one of the largest IT consultancies in Latin America, says it is hiring to keep up with “accelerated growth” in Brazil.

Mexico’s NAFTA-granted favored status will make it easier to bring in temporary IT workers

Nearshore technology outsourcers providing employees from Mexico may benefit from a recent crackdown by the federal government on temporary visas for IT professionals. The Latin American technology services market has another concrete example of its ability to compete on technology acumen and delivery skill, not just resource cost and proximity. Popular ERP software firm SAP announced at its annual global conference, Sapphire, that it is adding Neoris to its list of global service partners.

Neoris, now headquartered in Miami, has deep Latin American roots. In only a decade, the company has become the largest IT consulting and system integrator in Mexico, and the second largest in Latin America. However, size isn’t the reason on-lookers should be impressed.

Latin American IT consultancy firm Neoris is eyeing a nearshore pipeline consisting of 25 US companies capable of hiring services worth US$60mn-70mn, the president of the company’s Mexico division, Carlos Castilla, told BNamericas.

According to the Gartner report “Market Share Analysis: Regional Players Gain Increasing IT Services Market Share, Latin America, 2009,” Neoris rose last year from the sixth to fifth largest IT service provider in Mexico, as local players benefitted from the country’s “increased focus on enhancing its position as a ‘nearshore’ provider for US firms during the economic recession.”

Castilla said nearshore contracts in the company’s pipeline would translate into revenues both this year and next, and pointed out that Neoris sees no slow down in interest, even as the US economy begins to recover.
