Staffing and back-office services provider SGF Global has acquired Adecco’s operations in Ecuador, aiming to capitalize on the rising demand for technology talent in the South American country.
This acquisition follows SGF’s recent purchase of Adecco’s offices in Uruguay, marking its continued expansion in the region.
SGF Global, which generates most of its revenue through Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Corporate Training, plans to address the tech talent gap in Ecuador’s vibrant startup ecosystem.
Many early-stage entrepreneurs in the country face challenges in sourcing experienced software developers, despite the rise of remote working arrangements, which had been expected to alleviate the talent shortage but failed to do so.
Operating across nearly every Latin American country, SGF Global is poised to make a significant impact in narrowing Ecuador’s tech skills gap.
The company announced it will focus on Employer of Record (EOR) services and intends to introduce new offerings, such as nearshoring in Ecuador. Adecco, on the other hand, primarily provided customized talent solutions in the country.
With the Ecuadorian government partnering with organizations like the Inter-American Development Bank to fund tech startups, the country’s tech scene is set for substantial growth.
Ecuador’s STEM graduate pool is also increasing by 25% annually, presenting SGF with a significant opportunity to expand its staffing services in the growing tech sector.
