When it comes to purchasing custom software products, you can either go with Agile or Waterfall, writes Carla Dawson. Among the benefits of Agile is contract transparency, its inherent ability to prioritize functionalities with higher business value, and active client communication in the project. There are drawbacks, however. Namely, Agile has no fixed pricing structure, comes with a learning curve to picking up specialized terminology, and often leads to product quality issues if there is poor client participation.
