Costa Rica Adopts New Logo to Boost Global Image

Costa Rica has unveiled its new national logo, which utilizes the slogan, ‘Essential Costa Rica’, as the Central American country prepares to boost its international image and position itself as an ideal destination for foreign investment. This new brand will make Costa Rica stand out from the crowd and help promote exports and tourism by projecting a better image of the country on the global stage, said Trade Minister Anabel González, after unveiling the logo at an official ceremony in the first week of September.

“Essential Costa Rica” replaces the previous national slogan “Costa Rica: No Artificial Ingredients” and was created by the global brand consultancy firm FutureBrand. The shade of green on the logo is meant to convey the country’s reputation for preserving natural resource and biodiversity.

Foreign investment in Costa Rica has grown immensely over the past few years with top technology companies like HP and Infosys setting up offices. With its vast rainforest and abundant animal species, Costa Rica is a destination of choice for tourists in North America. More than 2.5 million tourists visited the country last year, according to the country’s Tourism Ministry.
