According to a new report from TMF Group, Argentina has the most complex corporate compliance practices in the Americas, more so than Brazil, Uruguay, Curaçao, and Honduras.
The Compliance Complexity Index 2018, measures business complexity around the world, looking at the challenges of adhering to business regulations across 84 jurisdictions, such as the ease of setting up a company, the information firms must report to local authorities, and the relative difficulty of complying with national legislation locally, among other things.
In relation to Argentina’s new modernization efforts, the report states that “this is one of many programs that will likely reduce complexity in the long-term, but, in the short-term, the effect has been an increased complication for businesses while they adjust and adapt to the changes.”
