Bahamas Prime Minister says tourism can get even better

Hubert A. Minnis, the prime minister of the Bahamas, underlined that the tourism industry in the country can get even better in a speech he made at the State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC).

“We must also be known as a global center of excellence for all aspects of tourism development,” said Minnis

He announced that the government recently launched the Small Business Development Centre as “the training and education of a new generation of entrepreneurs is vital in helping our citizens and economies to garner greater economic benefits from tourism.”

In the short run, he hinted that there may be a need for attracting region subsidiaries or units of existing global travel companies as “this is how many enterprises are jumpstarted.”
