Barbados tourism continues to see growth, with 453,645 visitors staying over in September this year, a 7.4% increase over the first nine months of 2017.
The figures were announced by William Griffith, CEO of Barbados Tourism Marketing, at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s State of the Industry Conference in Grenada.
“We are trying to position Barbados as the most dynamic, exciting, happening destination in the Eastern Caribbean,” Griffith said.
Helped along by new marketing campaigns, increased flights from carriers like JetBlue, and hotel expansions and renovations, this growth looks set to continue.
“It’s really the growth of rooms and the growth of air capacity,” Griffith said. “One follows the other, and we see no turnaround in the immediate future in that trend.”
