BPO firm EXL Service Buys Into Growing Clinical Outsourcing Sector

BY STAFF REPORT

Outsourcing firm EXL Service Holdings has purchased US-based healthcare solutions provider Landacorp for $38 million.

Landacorp, which has more than 50 million registered members, develops technology solutions that help organizations share vital clinical data with whomever they want to.

Following the acquisition, Landacorp will be renamed as EXL Landa.

EXL’s CEO Rohit Kapoor said the purchase of Landacorp was part of company’s strategy to build expertise in select industry verticals and to offer platform-based solutions.

Analysts say Landacorp acquisition will strengthen and widen EXL’s offerings to healthcare industry as it combines technology, operational efficiency and analytics.

According to research firm NelsonHall, the market for outsourced services to healthcare payers is likely to increase to $15 billion in 2016 from $ 9 billion in 2011.
