Buenos Aires has been ranked as the highest Latin American city on AT Kearney’s Global Cities Index 2018.
Argentina’s capital ranked 25 on the list, ahead of Sao Paulo, Brazil at 31; Mexico City, Mexico at 38; Bogota, Colombia at 55; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at 56.
Surprisingly, Guadalajara and Monterrey, Mexico, fell far down the list of 135 cities, at 98 and 99 respectively.
The ranking determines which global cities are improving in their competitiveness, looking at factors like business activity, human capital, information exchange, cultural experience, and political engagement. The information was sourced from publicly available city-level data.
New York City was found to be the world’s most influential city, according to the report.
