Capgemini Exec: Protectionism Slows Down the Growth of the U.S.

No matter where you sit on the issue of  “offshoring U.S. jobs”, you will find the remarks by Capgemini vice president of BPO services, Robbie Brillhart, thought provoking in a new Nearshore Americas video we just released. [Click here]

Robbie was very willing to take this controversial issue head on – emphasizing that he is proud that Capgemini can provide employment for hundreds of people in Guatemala. On the issue of outsourcing jobs, he says: “It’s not the part about moving the jobs away -it’s an engine about creating new opportunities in other countries and being a part of a process of evolution. Where it’s the right job in the right place – that’s where we’ll put that job.”

“I get chills just thinking about what we’re doing as an industry in countries like Guatemala” – Brillhart

Robbie makes some very good points and we like his willingness to talk openly about a topic that many Nearshore corporate customers wouldn’t dare touch. We’ll continue to look for more executives in our Nearshore community to speak their minds on this critical issue.
