French outsourcing giant Capgemini has purchased TCube Solutions, a digital services firm that specializes in technology solutions for companies in the insurance sector.
Capgemini says the acquisition bolsters its digital design and strategy skills and its expertise around Duck Creek Technologies. Financial details of the deal are not yet clear.
“TCube Solutions’ services and skill set in Duck Creek Technologies’ based offerings opens up new possibilities for Capgemini to address the needs of the insurance industry,” said Thierry Delaporte, Group Executive Board Member, responsible for Financial Services at Capgemini.
Columbia, S.C.-based TCube Solutions’ offerings include integrated policy management, billing, claims operations, reinsurance management systems and data strategy capabilities.
The company, founded in 2007, has employed about 300 people across its delivery centers in North America and the UK. Capgemini is planning to cross-sell its digital solutions to TCube’s current customers.
“We have worked hard to build a strong team with key skills and expertise that are in great demand in today’s fast moving insurance market,” said Sabyasachi Patnaik, delivery chief of TCube Solutions. Patnaik will join Capgemini along with all the other employees.
Over the past few years, the French outsourcer has made several acquisitions to prop up its digital portfolio. Last month, it acquired Alto, California-based Idean, which provides digital strategy and design consultancy services to large multinational firms, including Mercedes-Benz, Sony, Volkswagen, Airbus, IBM, and Intel.
In addition, the company is re-skilling its employees in India apparently with a hope capitalizing on the growing demand for digital technology services in the United States.
Capgemini’s North American operation grew significantly in 2015 when it acquired Indian IT services firm iGate. Today, the region accounts for 30% of the company’s overall revenues.
