Colombian business-process-outsourcing firm Emtelco S.A.S. has announced an expansion in the Aburrá Valley and the capital city of Bogotá that will create 1,300 new jobs.
The recruitment drive spans roles in telemarketing, customer service, software development and IT services — and includes a hybrid work model that allows some new hires to work remotely, according to local news outlet El Colombiano.
Emtelco emphasizes that its mission goes beyond traditional CX and BPO solutions: “we are transforming lives through exceptional experiences that impact user loyalty.”
The company, originally founded in July 1994 in Medellín by Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) and EMCALI as a telecommunications provider, entered the call‐center market in 2003.
In 2007 it spun off its telecom division to focus squarely on contact center operations, and in 2009 launched its more comprehensive BPO service line.
Today, Emtelco serves more than 11,000 employees across multiple countries in the Americas, and is ranked among Colombia’s leading BPO vendors.
This latest hiring drive continues its strategy of widening its regional footprint and adapting to hybrid working models as demand for flexible, digitally-enabled outsourcing services rises.

That’s great news for Colombia! Emtelco’s expansion not only boosts job opportunities in Medellín and Bogotá but also shows how the BPO industry continues to grow and evolve. It’s nice to see a company focusing on transforming lives and offering flexible work options too definitely a win for both the local economy and job seekers.
