Convergys is on a mission to hire 200 agents for its call center in Rohrmoser, San Jose, as the global BPO firm gears up to bolster its operation in Costa Rica. “New employees will provide inbound customer service to support clients in the healthcare, financial industries, billing and banking,” stated Convergys, which is headquartered in Cincinnati, OH.
The BPO provider is currently holding a job fair at its facility in Rohrmoser, saying that it is looking for candidates who have passion for customer care. The agents will be trained in customer care soon after recruitment.
“We are looking for highly motivated individuals who want to grow and build a career in the call center industry. Potential employees must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma, proficient English skills, and a passion for customer service,” said David Clements, site leader for the Convergys contact center in Rohrmoser.
Four years after entering the country, the company has grown into one of Costa Rica’s largest service-sector employers. Today it runs four call centers here and most of which are serving clients in the English-speaking markets.
But this job fair comes almost a year after Convergys announced a plan to hire 3000 employees in the United States and Costa Rica. Convergys already has more than 2500 employees working at its contact centers in Heredia and San Jose, where it launched its fourth contact center in December 2012.
With more than 75,000 employees, Convergys is one of the giants in the global call center industry, and nearly 40 percent of its delivery centers are in the Philippines, the Asian country nicknamed “global call center”.
