Faces in the Crowd: Hon. Fayval Williams

As the first female Minister of Science, Energy, and Technology in Jamaica, the Honourable Fayval Williams has a number of priorities for her portfolio, including clean technology. Mrs Williams recently participated in a panel on clean tech and renewable energy during a visit from a delegation of Canadian companies. The Jamaican government also announced that it would embark on the development of an electric vehicle policy.

Mrs Williams announced on Twitter on Valentine’s Day that she was “deeply humbled and honoured to be selected as the first female Minister of Science, Energy and Technology. I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Jamaica in my new role.” She was also elected Member of Parliament for St. Andrew Eastern in the recent general election.
