Globant finally landed in Ecuador a year after announcing its expansion into the country and following the signing of a collaboration agreement with Ecuador’s Ministry of Technology (Mintel).
Around 137 employees are currently working in the newly opened office in the port city of Guayaquil.
The government of Ecuador promised to promote Globant and work with all companies that have the potential to contribute to the country’s economic progress.

In its statement released in late 2021, Globant assured the goal of its Ecuatorian expansion is to leverage the country’s tech talent pool.
“At Globant we want to seize opportunities wherever there is talent, and we see that Ecuador has exceptional potential,” said Andres Giolito, Globant’s TDC manager in Colombia and Ecuador, in a press release. “The country has an excellent academic infrastructure that positions it as a pole of digital talent in the region.”
With more than 25,000 employees, Globant offers a wide range of technology solutions. Its customers include Google, Santander and Disney.
The NYSE-listed company has been rapidly expanding in Latin America since early 2022. By its own account, it will soon open branches in San Jose (Costa Rica), Viña del Mar (Chile), Arequipa (Peru) and Bariloche (Argentina).
