An artificial intelligence (AI) project cannot rely solely on the strength of data and data scientists; it requires an AI-capable culture or ecosystem to be successful, according to IT services provider Globant.
“There’s this misconception that an AI project is just about the technology and data,” said Juan José López Murphy, AI Studio Lead at Globant, in a press release. “Tech is what makes the project physically possible, but it truly comes down to the team and skill set that is rooted in a collaborative culture.”
Globant has released a book entitled “Embracing the Power of AI“, which emphasizes that Artificial intelligence is nothing but a tool that augments human intelligence.
In the book, authors advise that organizations should build a collaborative culture and a development team with a thorough understanding of the technology before setting their AI project in motion.
“There’s a lot of flashy technology out there that organizations feel pressure to jump on just because it’s hot right now,” said Javier Minhondo, Globant’s AI Studio Partner. “It’s important to sift through the hype, take a step back, assess what business problems actually need to be addressed, then thoroughly research what technologies can be applied to address them and create a better customer experience.
Globant’s book also gives examples of how AI is currently being used to give context to the possibilities of the technology.
“We are facing an abundance of demand for more intelligent and human-like behavior and technology on the market, and now we have concrete ways to fill that demand,” says Martín Migoya, CEO of Globant.
