Quick Poll: In-flight Entertainment – Can you Live Without It?

In a world where 90% of passengers carry smartphones, tablets, or other handheld devices, airline operators are debating the necessity of embedded, seatback in-flight entertainment (IFE) on future aircraft.

JetBlue, Delta, and Aeromexico have all confirmed that IFE is still an integral part of their service offering in the Americas, stating that it will continue to represent a value proposition for customers, according to Future Travel Experience.

However, American Airlines is looking to phase out the established technology, instead opting for an “extensive library” of content streamed directly to passenger devices through Wi-Fi.

Poll: Are you satisfied with seatback IFE or would you prefer a handheld Wi-Fi experience?
