Indian IT services provider Prodapt is making a US$7 million bet to launch operations in Panama.
“A delivery center in Panama will enable us to better serve clients in the Americas,” said Harsha Kumar, country manager for the company, which has its headquarters in the Indian city of Bangalore.
Prodapt arrived in Panama in 2020 and started providing service to American customers with a team of about six people. The firm presently has 200 employees, and company officials anticipate the number to exceed 300 by the end of 2023.
Prodapt’s customers in Latin America include Lumen, Liberty Latin America, Amazon and AT&T.
Founded in 2,000, Prodapt provides a range of IT services, including application development and management, BPO software testing and cloud computing.
With a turnover of US$1.2 billion, Prodapt operates delivery centers in as many as 30 countries and employs around 10,000 people.
The majority of the company’s revenue comes from the United States and Europe, where it operates five delivery centers.
American asset managers including Sequoia Capital, Tiger Global Management and Accel Partners are among Prodapt’s investors.
