American BPO provider KM2 Solutions has expanded in St Lucia by adding 7,000 square feet of floor space to its operations center in capital Castries.
The New York City-based company says it will soon hire 200 call center agents and over 100 supporting staff on the island. The new hires will take the company’s total headcount in St Lucia to approximately 1,400.
With a 90% literacy rate and a strong cultural affinity with the United States, Saint Lucia has long been a home for KM2 solutions. In fact, the call center operator originated in St Lucia, before expanding to the Dominican Republic, Barbados, and Granada.
“Saint Lucia has been the cornerstone of our company’s history. We started our operations in 2004 and have continued to grow ever since,” says David Kreiss, CEO of the company.
Most of KM2’s clients operate in industry segments, including retail, healthcare, technology, finance, telecom, and hospitality.
The firm appears to have escaped the COVID-19 pandemic almost unhurt. When the disease hit the Caribbean earlier in March this year, it quickly transitioned most of its employees to a home environment, using encryption and multi-factor authentication technologies.
By the second week of April, more than 1,500 of its agents had begun to operate from home, according to the company’s website.
