La Casa Matusita: The Spookiest Building in Latin America

If you want a real chill this Halloween, head over to La Casa Matusita in Lima, Peru, which is said to be one of the most haunted buildings in Latin America.

Supposedly, the second floor is the most haunted area in the house, with those who venture upstairs quickly going insane. Reportedly, a journalist in the 1960s attempted to prove this theory wrong and lost his mind on the second floor.

How did it become haunted? One story says that the ghosts inside are members of a dinner party who all went mad and killed each other. Another tale says it was once home to a witch, who sold her services to anyone who could afford them, causing chaos among the city’s residents.
