Over 70% of Facebook users are outside the United States. With more than 500 million users (Facebook defines them as those returning to the site in the last 30 days),  the social network tries to have have a far reaching presence. Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook, predicts that the social network will reach one billion users in the next few years.

During the month of June we conducted a study to assess the State of Facebook in Latin America. The study was conducted using public information provided by the company and analysing all the accounts of the social network that were registered in the country, a country in the region section. On the basis of the figure of “70% of Facebook users are outside of the United States”, Latin America has 17% of foreign user participation with 60 million users.

The following most important statistics for our study:

Latin American users mix consists of 52% are women and 48% men.

Mexico occupies the first place with 12.5 million users, followed by Argentina and Colombia with 10 million and 9.7 million respectively. Nicaragua is the country with less number of users of Facebook Ecuador has parity in in the number of users of both sexes at least 32% of Internet users in the region have a profile on Facebook with numbers as impressive as these, I wonder how there are still marketeros and companies to continue thinking that you networks social are spending time. If so, I want that while users are wasting time on Facebook, do so with my brand. Do not believe?
