Can Miami Do Technology?

We recently looked at the IT sector in Miami and concluded that the most Latin city in the United States lags way behind the tech-world movers and shakers in Latin America. “Information workers make up only 1.7% of Dade County’s workforce,” wrote Loren Moss, “and sadly, absolutely zero Miami companies make Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 list of high-tech innovators.” Local education and the general business climate are both holding the city back, while firms like Open English and Rokk3r Labs try to reverse that reputation. But so far, the jury is out on any meaningful progress. Can Miami improve as a technology hub?
