Rappi Goes for Dominance in Mexico with $110 Million Bet

Colombia’s super-app Rappi is pouring US$110 million into its Mexican operations by year’s end, aiming to dominate the country’s booming food and product delivery sector.

Simón Borrero, Rappi’s Founder and CEO, told local media that the funds would be used to enhance the app’s user experience, empower business partners and improve support for its delivery network.

The investment focuses on optimizing Rappi’s operational efficiency and technological infrastructure. A key component is the company’s so-called “Turbo” option, which allows for 10-minute delivery of certain products.

Turbo will integrate with local restaurants, enabling delivery of ready-made meals from popular brands like McDonald’s, Little Caesars, Subway and local favorites like Casa de Toño and Taquearte.
