Swiss biotech firm Roche is set to double its workforce in Costa Rica by hiring more than 300 people for its shared services center in San Jose province.
By the end of 2020, “we will have more than 700 employees”, stated the company, which currently employs around 370 people.
Established in 2017 in Escazú village, the shared service center provides IT support services for the company’s pharmaceuticals and diagnostics units across the Americas.
From now on, the center in Costa Rica will also provide HR services, in addition to the existing procurement, finance, and IT services for Roche.
“With the sustained growth in Finance, Procurement and Informatics, and the addition of Human Resources to our service catalog, we foresee ending the year with more than 700 collaborators,” said Héctor Feliú, General Manager of Roche Services & Solutions for the Americas.
With 4600 meters of floor space, the facility is large enough to accommodate the new hires. This is Roche’s third global IT shared services center, with the other two located in Budapest, Hungary, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The company is looking to hire bilinguals as it wants the center to provide support services in various European languages, including Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
Roche offers an attractive benefits package that includes life and medical insurance plans, a scholarship program, extended maternity and paternity leaves, and a dental benefit, among others.
