Mexican IT behemoth Softtek has named its senior executive Beni Lopez as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in charge of overseeing operations in the United States and Canada.
Having joined the firm way back in 1989, Lopez has been a key strategist behind Softtek’s globalization efforts, spearheading the company’s expansion into Peru, Argentina, and Colombia.
He headed the company’s US operations from 2000 through 2010, and it is believed that he has a friendly relationship with Softtek’s large clients with large operations in the US.
“This is the perfect time for Beni to return to leading our US market,” stated Blanca Treviño, Softtek President & global CEO, in a press release.
“Beni’s accomplished track record, in-depth knowledge of Softtek largest accounts and strategic leadership.”
With more than 12,000 employees in Mexico and abroad, Softtek offers application software development, IT infrastructure management, security, and support to more than 400 corporations in more than 20 countries, including India and China.
Headquartered in Monterrey, Softtek was the largest private IT vendor in Latin America as of 2010.
It is in fact one of the pioneers of ‘nearshore services’ and Lopez has long been the leading advocate of this concept.
“The pace of change needed to successfully leverage technology expands our opportunities in multiple industries, and I look forward to continue growing our local and global capabilities to evolve together with our clients,” Beni Lopez said.
