Linux software vendor SUSE launched a delivery center in São Paulo, Brazil, and aims to soon open an office in Mexico City.
SUSE’S latest plans are part of its efforts to expand operations in Latin America and achieve 500% growth in the region over the next five years.
The company previously downsized its LATAM operations but is now recommitted to regional growth. SUSE has operations in Argentina and Chile as well.
As of December 2022, SUSE’s annual contract value (ACV) in Latin America stood at US$21.7 million.
“Latin America had a very good growth before the downsizing, we had very strong growth rates back in 2020, to 2021, to 2022, and then it kind of dropped significantly in 2023 due to the downsizing. We want to get back to that,” Werner Knoblich, the company’s CRO, told Reuters.
SUSE’s customers in Latin America include some of the region’s leading enterprises, such as Banco do Brasil, Itaú Unibanco and Petrobras.
“Latin America is experiencing significant growth in demand for IT software and services, in part due to the acceleration of business application migration to the cloud,” Knoblich said in a press release.
