U.S. call center firm Teletech Holdings Inc has acquired Canada-based customer experience provider Atelka for $59 million.
Headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Atelka has 2,800 employees in four Canadian provinces. Most of its clients are in telecom, logistics, and entertainment. The company claims to be providing customer care services in as many as nine languages.
“Our acquisition of Atelka is part of our strategy to bring our holistic customer engagement platform to key geographies,” said Kenneth Tuchman, chairperson and chief executive officer of Teletech.
Teletech has been hunting for ways to bolster its digital capabilities and the acquisition of Atelka will likely cement its position in the Canadian call center service industry. “We now have a solid foundation for growth in the important Canadian market,” added Tuchman.
Founded in 2003, Atelka runs delivery centers in most of the Canadian cities, including Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.
“This is a strategic move for Atelka. Through this new relationship, we will be able to extend our value to our clients with Teletech’s full range of customer engagement solutions,” said Tom Loberto, Atelka’s CEO.
Atelka is likely to operate under its own brand for now, but TeleTech will integrate it into assets years later.
