ThoughtWorks Named Top Company For Women in Tech Industry

Technology consulting and agile software development firm ThoughtWorks has beaten the likes of Facebook and Google as the best company for women in the tech industry.
According to the latest numbers released by the Anita Borg Institute, women hold the majority of positions at ThoughtWorks, at 59.6%. This is far above the average 26.8% found in other companies included in the survey.
In a previous interview with Nearshore Americas, Dr. Rebecca Parsons, chief technical officer for ThoughtWorks, told us: “One of my professors told me in a class that women were incapable of understanding math and science.” It seems that Parsons has succeeded in proving that teacher wrong.
One thing is clear: Parsons will continue to challenge perceptions about women in tech for as long as she is able.
