U.S. software services firm Tiempo Development has acquired Mexican mobile application developer Jaguar Labs.
Neither firm has disclosed the financial details of the deal, nor is it clear how many people are working for the Mexican firm. However, Tiempo Development has stated that the acquisition will further bolster its “bilingual and bicultural software engineering team”.
Although headquartered in the United States, Tiempo Development has deployed most of its staff at its delivery centers in the Mexican cities of Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Hermosillo.
Jaguar Labs boasts an innovative talent pool and strengthens Tiempo Development’s ability to offer software development services to companies in a wide range of sectors, including cloud computing, finance, healthcare, legal, and security.
In addition, Jaguar Labs helps the American firm better leverage its nearshore delivery network and as well as the agile software development practice.
“We maintain our position at the forefront of mobile technology development by continually growing our nearshore talent base,” said Cliff Schertz, Founder, Chief Executive Officer and President at Tiempo Development, in a press release.
Tiempo Development’s roster of clients include Microsoft, Insight Enterprises, and Microchip Technology, according to Phoenix Business Journal.
Based in Jalisco, Jaguar Labs is known for developing innovative mobile applications. Copilot, an app that helps Mexican drivers identify the best route to their destination, is one of its most popular.
Tiempo Development will soon integrate Jaguar Lab’s assets into its portfolio, as it is very much aware that mobile apps are in high demand in Mexico, with the number of people using cell phones to access the internet rising by the day.
