Matt KendallMost of us dream of that day when we get a free upgrade to first class, while others have been lucky enough to experience it numerous times, but one flight attendant has revealed why some people get upgraded while others remain banished to coach.
Former Qantas cabin crew member Nik Loukas, who worked in the industry for 10 years, explained how the airline decided in an interview with Business Insider.
“If there’s a special meal request in your booking, the airline won’t even look at you [for an upgrade],” he claimed. “Because you’ve got a dietary requirement, they might not be able to cater for you if they upgrade you.”
I guess those of you who rely on kosher or veggie are plain out of luck.
