VXI Launches Yet Another Contact Center in Guatemala City

US BPO provider VXI Global Solutions expanded operations in Guatemala with the launch of another contact center in Guatemala City, the country’s capital.

Barely a mile away from the first site inaugurated in 2017, the second delivery center has seating for 700 agents.

The Los Angeles-based BPO offers numerous incentives for employees, including family medical insurance and scholarships for children.

VXI landed in Guatemala in 2017. Today, more than 1,250 Guatemalans are estimated to be working for the company. The expansion is likely to take the company’s total headcount over 2,000.

“Guatemala and its people have been very kind to us since we set up our first site in 2017. We look forward to better serving the community with this second location, said VXI COO Jared Morrison.

The BPO vendor has teamed up with local municipalities to train graduates in English language skills. Over the past four years, VXI claims to have funded more than 10,000 participants in the country.

VXI Global has been growing at a rapid pace since 2012, when US equity investor Bain Capital began raising stakes in the company. In February of this year, Bain Capital became the biggest shareholder in XVI, having acquired the controlling stake from Carlyle Group.

Also fueling its growth was the acquisition of Symbio, a software and IT outsourcing provider, which expanded VXI’s global services offering and further sharpened its competitive edge.
