Why We Exist

When we launched in September 2009, no independent media site covered outsourcing in the Americas.

The global outsourcing industry was earning an estimated $150 billion a year, the number of American companies with an offshoring strategy had more than doubled in three years, and a company weighing a partner in Mexico or Colombia had plenty of sales material to read and almost no journalism.

Corporations needed real tools and real knowledge to assess the quality of providers, as well as insights on issues like human capital, geopolitics, and project management.

The case for the region was strong then and is stronger now: geographic proximity, aligned time zones, English proficiency, and business cultures that mesh with those of partners in the United States.

Today, Nearshore Americas is an ever-growing community of industry professionals, enterprise buyers, analysts, government leaders, and journalists that uses our reporting, events, and research to understand where the market is going.

What We Cover

We cover the whole region: the established delivery countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, and Costa Rica, and the fast-emerging ones such as Chile, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Jamaica. And occasionally global stories and trends influencing the Americas.

Our reporting runs across every service line, from software development and IT to finance, human resources, contact centers, and knowledge process outsourcing, written by experienced journalists from around the globe.
