Accenture Acquires Mexican Cybersecurity Firm Mnemo

Accenture has acquired Mexico-based managed cybersecurity services provider Mnemo, obtaining numerous potential clients in a country that has long been a victim of cyberattacks.

Founded in Mexico City in 2012, Mnemo is one of the few Mexican cybersecurity firms with a cyber intelligence platform powered by generative AI.

With around 230 professionals, Mnemo offers 24/7 network security to its clients, most of them belonging to the banking, insurance and telecommunications verticals.

“The combination of Mnemo Mexico’s managed cybersecurity services, extensive industry expertise and strong client base makes them an ideal acquisition,” said Paolo Dal Cin, who leads Accenture Security globally.

Accenture has acquired around 17 companies in the cybersecurity sector since 2015. Its cybersecurity business accelerated in 2020 when it acquired Symantec, which held a large resource of cybersecurity solutions.

This is Accenture’s third acquisition in the Latin American cybersecurity sector, with previous acquisitions including Brazil’s Morphus and Real Protect.

“Mexico consistently ranks among the top countries in Latin America most affected by cyber attacks,” Accenture said in a press release, indicating the growing demand for cybersecurity services in the country.

“For more than 20 years our clients have counted on us to safeguard them against destructive cyberattacks. We are excited to join Accenture Security so we can collaborate across industries to help clients in Mexico and around the world create a more secure future,” said Julian Garrido, General Director of Mnemo.
