BPO provider Accenture’s consulting and business process services unit Accenture Operations has reshuffled its top management, promoting Group Operating Officer Debra Polishook to the position of Group Chief Executive.
Polishook replaces Mike Salvino, who will retire from the company after more than 22 years to join Carrick Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on technology-enabled businesses, Accenture stated in a press release.
“Polishook brings to her new role extensive knowledge of our consulting and business process services, and she was instrumental in shaping our strategy for Accenture Operations,” said Chairman and CEO Pierre Nanterme. “She is an outstanding leader with a proven track record of successfully running different parts of our business during her 30-year career with Accenture.”
Bangalore-based Manish Sharma will succeed Polishook as Group Operating Officer, a promotion from the role of senior managing director – Global Delivery & Solution Development for Accenture Operations.
Formed two years ago, Accenture Operations has more than $7 billion in annual net revenues and 100,000 people globally. With revenues up 20 percent in local currency in fiscal 2015, Accenture Operations is proving to be an engine of growth for its Chicago-based parent company.
Accenture has employed thousands of people in Latin America, especially in Brazil. Last year, it snatched up Brazilian digital agency AD.Dialeto to bolster the operation of its digital arm Accenture Interactive. In February, it acquired a local analytics company Gapso, and then in June announced plans to hire more than 1,000 technology professionals for its delivery center in Recife, Brazil.
Accenture’s industry verticals in the region include finance, health, telecommunications, consumer goods, and natural resources.
