Allied Global Talks of Expanding Within Honduras

Guatemalan BPO service provider Allied Global is talking of creating more than 900 jobs by expanding its call centers in Honduras’ industrial capital San Pedro Sula.

Allied global runs one call center each in San Pedro Sula’s two business parks – Mall Galerias Del Valle and Altia Business Park.

“We are expanding at Galerias Del Valle with approximately 340 new positions. And by October, we are going to make one more expansion in Altia Business Park with an expected 600 new jobs,” the company’s President Manuel Gordo was quoted as saying by the Spanish paper La Prensa.

Gordo has also stated that his company would continue to invest in Honduras, the central American country hit hard by drug-related violence. The BPO provider has praised Hondurans, saying they are hardworking and eager to advance in their careers. He has also expressed happiness at their proficiency in the English language and customer service skills.

More than 1400 agents are working at Allied Global’s call centers in Honduras, and the company said the figure would rise to 2,000 by the end of 2013.

Allied Global’s other delivery centers are in Guatemala, Canada and the United States. The BPO provider offers customer care services in three languages including English and Spanish.

The company began operations in Guatemala in 2005, with call center services in Spanish for regional companies. In 2008, it entered into the English language market and has since achieved significant growth.

In July of 2012, Allied Global expanded into Honduran city of San Pedro Sula, creating more than a thousand jobs. Currently, the BPO provider is also offering training programs, which contribute to the professional development of its employees. As part of its corporate social responsibility, Allied Global is also offering its agents the opportunity to undergo training to improve their English proficiency.
