Convergys Plans to Hire Hundreds of Call Center Agents in Honduras

Convergys, which has expanded rapidly across Latin America through its recent acquisition of Stream Global Services, is looking to bolster its operations in Honduras by adding hundreds of employees to its workforce.

The Cincinnati, Ohio-based outsourcing giant recently hosted a job fair at its contact center in San Pedro Sula’s Altia Business Park, where it wants to fill vacancies in the areas of technical support, customer service and sales.

Convergys plans for expansion are good news for Honduras’ global services sector, as the BPO provider trains every employee, equipping them with the skills required the global call center industry.

Nairim Avila, Convergys’ regional director for recruiting, says the BPO provider is looking for “highly motivated people who want to grow and develop a career in the services industry.”

“The candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma, be proficient in English and know about computers,” Avila added. “In fact, 79 per cent of our managers worldwide were promoted from within, and we are known for the many career opportunities we provide to our employees.”

The acquisition of Stream Global has helped Convergys expand to six countries in Latin America, increasing its headcount to well over 7,000.

“The acquisition of Stream strengthens even more our commitment with Honduras, opening more and better opportunities for growth and development our employees, their families and their communities,” said Eugenia Rojas, Communications and Public Relations Manager for Latin America.
