Costa Rica’s investment promotion agency CINDE has launched a digital job fair to fill up to 2,500 positions among 30 multinational companies operating in the country. The positions the agency is trying to fill include accountants, web and software developers, engineers, customer service agents, and sales executives.
Both manufacturing companies and services providers are taking part in the job fair, stated the agency in a press release. Among them are American BPO provider Sykes, Concentrix, technology giant IBM, Dell, Accenture, Fujitsu, Auxis, DXC Technology, and Equifax.
Job seekers should be 18-years-old and proficient in one more international language other than Spanish. Some of the jobs can be carried out from home, CINDE said.
“It is open to anyone who´s looking for a high-quality and well-paid job opportunity from multinational companies established in Costa Rica,” said Jorge Sequeira, Managing Director of CINDE.
More jobs are being created in the country as a result of the continued expansion of foreign multinationals. US online retailer Amazon Inc, for example, is talking of hiring more than 2,000 people by the end of this year.
Earlier in June, data analytics services provider Equifax announced that it would add 200 persons to its payroll in the Central American country, where its current headcount stands at 1,000.
Despite the rising job opportunities, many young graduates have remained jobless. Unemployment rose to 11.9% in the second quarter, one of the highest figures in recent years, according to The Tico Times.
