Indian outsourcing firm Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) has launched another delivery center in El Paso, Texas, adding another 450 employees to its local workforce. The new facility, with a floorspace of 60,000 square feet, is also equipped with a training center, where the company trains new recruits in back-office services.
The Bangalore, India-based BPO provider says El Paso has been playing a pivotal role in providing contact center service for its onshore customers and vowed to double its headcount in the city over the next couple of years.
HGS established its first delivery center in El Paso in 2002. Today it employs about 400 people at this call center to provide customer care services to the company’s clients in the United States.
The BPO provider says it has given employment to a large number of military veterans from Fort Bliss, one of the largest military installations in the United States. Last year it entered into a partnership with Prudential to train and hire veterans and military spouses for the El Paso delivery center.
“Currently one out of every two jobs HGS fills in El Paso’s latest center is being met with a military veteran, an active reservist or a military spouse. And military family members constitute more than 52% of the demographics on certain HGS programs,” the outsourcer stated in a press release.
HGS is increasingly focusing on winning more clients in the lucrative U.S. healthcare sector, which is its biggest vertical and accounts for 28% of its revenue.
Elsewhere in Americas, Hinduja has operations in Colombia and Jamaica.
