Engineers with expertise in machine learning (ML) are the fourth most sought-after professionals in the United States, according to the latest survey by LinkedIn.
The social media site has created a list of 25 roles that are in high demand after analyzing its own data on worldwide trends in hiring.
Machine learning topped the list for the fastest-growing jobs in the technology field.
Souvik Ghosh, a principal staff engineer, and director of AI at LinkedIn has told Morning Brew that they saw businesses looking for ML engineers with an average of four years of experience.
Thanks to the high demand, professionals with fewer years of experience are also managing to land a job.
“The consistent, high demand for machine learning engineers is not surprising,” stated Romer Rosales, another senior employee at the social media site.
Businesses are increasingly realizing that the traditional tech infrastructure cannot support the level of scalability they require now and are, therefore, embracing emerging technologies.
Meanwhile, the latest study by Workday has found Chief Financial Officers (CFO) investing in technology with an aim to retain their employees with skills in AI and machine learning.
