The team at Nearshore Americas is proud to announce the launch of the Nearshore Location Value Index, the industry’s first robust analysis of technology services’ destinations in the Nearshore specifically crafted to measure cost vs. value.
The top 20 locations (10 for IT/ software and 10 for BPO and CX services) will be unveiled at Nexus 2023, June 14-15th. (Speakers, agenda, venue and registration information can be found here).
Obtaining value is an essential component to offshore/nearshore delivery. For this index, NSAM will take into consideration not only pricing (wages, real estate, taxes), but also other perks offered by each destination; perks such as the width and depth of the talent pool, English proficiency among the local population, infrastructure, geographical proximity to the US and ease of doing business, among other things.
A total of 41 destinations (all of them listed in the image at the bottom of this article) will be evaluated. We decided to include both specific cities and whole countries in the list, given the significant variations in size, pricing and other qualities found within some countries. This aims to provide a more accurate understanding of Nearshore destination options.
“Over many years we have come to recognize that investors, service providers and enterprise customers want assurance that they are getting a great deal at a great price. Paying too much is a big worry and, frankly, it happens more often than not,” says Kirk Laughlin, founder and chief analyst at Nearshore Americas. “Our ranking is weighted to ensure actual, on the ground costs are factored into the compilation of the ranking.”
The Value Index aims to put the spotlight on some of the lesser known destinations in the Nearshore that are worthy of attention, while also establishing if (and why) some of the most solicited cities/countries in the region are worth the price of entry.
The Value Index will be developed and managed by Nearshore Americas’ analysts. In other words: no nominations are required.
The ranking will be announced at Nexus 2023 during a special presentation by Nearshore Americas’ Managing Editor, Cesar Cantu.
