Startup accelerator Finnovista has chosen six Latin American tech startups for its six month-long mentorship program.
Among the selected startups are Ai360, Mexico’s online platform for the real estate industry, Peru’s customer retention app Bederr, and Argentinean fintech Koibanx.
The acceleration program, scheduled to begin on December 9, is designed to help the entrepreneurs expand globally, increase revenues and access fundraising opportunities.
There was a significant increase in the number of applicants seeking a seat in the program, says the accelerator, which launched its bootcamp program for the first time in 2017.
More than 60 mentors and representatives from the accelerator’s corporate partners – including Visa, Scotiabank, HSBC Mexico, Banregio, IGNIA, Latinia, Fiinlab powered by Gentera, EY Mexico and White & Case – took part at an event organized to select the startups.
The mentorship program will feature several in-person and virtual workshops. At the end of it, the accelerator will connect them to potential investors.
“We are committed to being an ally for the best Fintech and Insurtech startups, to enable them to achieve growth and expand into Latin American markets,” Christine Chang, a senior official at Finnovista.
Other startups selected for the program include:
Apperto: Argentina-based Apperto provides a range of services, including payment, local info as well as navigation services.
Kobra: Mexico’s Kobra is a digital platform that gives financial firms access to marketing agents for selling their products.
Another Argentina’s startup to win a seat in the acceleration program is Siembro, which provides digital payment services to farmers.
