Synapsis Swallows Two More Firms on Multi-Million Dollar Acquisition Binge

Chilean technology integrator Synapsis has acquired a 100 percent stake in AQB and AGI-TEK, further expanding its footprint in Latin America’s IT services market. Both the firms that Synapsis has bought have facilities and clients in Peru and Argentina as well as Chile.

This is the Synapsis’s third acquisition this year after it purchased Colombia’s DIVEO and Brazil’s Cyberlynxx.

The technology integrator has stated that it would spend $15 million over the next three years for further strengthening its position in Latin America’s Big Data and cloud computing services market.

“We want Synapsis to become the best multi-Latin IT, outsourcing and cloud services company”, adds Francisco Alvarez-Demalde, founder partner of Riverwood Capital, and a Synapsis Director.

With a background of over 16 years in the IT industry, and with over 150 active clients in Chile, Argentina and Peru, AQB Group has several IT solutions in its portfolio.

Analysts say the acquisition will certainly reinforce Synapsis’ presence in segments such as Big Data. Moreover, the new company brings in new professionals, new profiles and individuals with a high performance and specialization in storage, cloud, remote back up, among other.

“Synapsis’ financial and technological capability will allow the expansion of AQB and AGI-TEK solutions to the rest of the Latin American market, contributing with a higher value to the current company’s offer”, stated Italo Peirano, the CEO of AQB Group.

Synapsis says the merger puts together a ‘highly qualified’ team of professionals and they will work together to meet the new challenges of the IT services market.
