American BPO provider TaskUs has expanded to India with the launch of a delivery center in the central Indian city of Indore.
This is the third Asian country TaskUs is expanding into after Taiwan and the Philippines, where a majority of its workers are believed to have been based.
“TaskUs opening in India is a huge step in our journey to building the best tech-enabled business service company in the world,” said CEO Bryce Maddock.
Indore is India’s cleanest city with relatively strong infrastructure. “We chose Indore as the site of our first location to bring jobs to where people want to live,” Maddock added.
The facility, nicknamed Rangreza, features a room for practicing yoga in addition to an onsite gym and health clinic. There are also collaborative spaces and fun zones stocked with gaming equipment and kiosks.
“TaskUs facilities are great examples of how much is invested in elevating our employees’ lives,” said Sapna Bhambani, Vice President of operations in India.
To begin with, Indore facility will employee around 500 people, but the company says it has plans to increase the headcount to “multiple thousands”.
Santa Monica, Calif-based BPO provider – whose clients include Uber Technologies, Tinder, BetterDoctor and Balsam Brands – has 17,000 employees in five countries, including Mexico.
