IT services giant Wipro has landed a digital transformation services contract worth more than US$1.5 billion with Alight Solutions LLC, an American cloud technology solutions and employee benefits services provider.
The news comes barely a month after the Bangalore-based IT company acquired Alight Solutions’ Indian operations.
Under the 10-year deal, Wipro will provide a comprehensive suite of solutions and services to Illinois-based Alight that also provides technology-enabled health, wealth, and finance solutions.
“This deal will result in revenues of US$1.5-$1.6 billion for Wipro over the tenure. This is Wipro’s largest win to date,” Wipro said in a statement.
Wipro says it will put to use all its digital arsenals, including cognitive automation and data analytics, to modernize Alight’s global operations.
“Our industry-leading partnership with Wipro will enhance our client experience by drawing on Wipro’s leading position in automation and innovation, while allowing Alight to invest in its health, wealth and cloud-based solutions to meet the needs of our clients,” said Alight Solutions CEO, Chris Michalak.
The last time Wipro cracked a large deal was in 2014 when it signed a US$1.1 billion outsourcing contract with Canadian logistics firm Atco.
Another Indian IT services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), also recently won multiple billion dollar deals. TCS has won three such multi-year mega-deals, which together bring in over US$5.6 billion in revenue.
