Oracle is preparing to launch a new cloud region in Nuevo León, Mexico, aiming to expand its share of the cloud market dominated by Amazon, Microsoft, and China’s Huawei.
This will be the company’s third cloud region in Mexico and its second in Nuevo León.
Governor Samuel García confirmed the plan through a video posted on X, formerly twitter, following his visit to Oracle’s headquarters in Austin, Texas.

In July 2022, Oracle entered the Mexican cloud market by launching a cloud region in Querétaro, in central Mexico. A year later, it expanded further, opening another cloud region in Monterrey, the financial hub of Nuevo León.
Oracle’s swift expansion in Mexico is largely driven by strategic partnerships with local telecom providers.
América Móvil’s Triara unit facilitated the launch of Oracle’s Querétaro region, while Telmex-Triara played a key role in the establishment of the Monterrey region.
With seven cloud regions across Latin America, Oracle stands as the cloud provider with the most extensive infrastructure in the region.
In addition to its presence in Mexico, the company operates two regions each in Brazil and Chile, and one in Colombia, where it was the first to launch, according to BNAmericas.
Oracle’s cloud services cater to major clients in Mexico, including , Deacero, Tepsa, Levi’s, DHL, GNP Seguros, and Grupo Kasto Molinos.
