Accenture Reinforces its Creative Arm With the Acquisition of Karmarama

Global IT consultancy firm Accenture has acquired British creative agency Karmarama, further bolstering its ability to help clients build better marketing strategies and improve customer experiences.
London-based Karmarama employs around 250 people, including creatives, digital strategists, and data practitioners, The agency counts the BBC, Honda, Just Eat, and Unilever among its clients.
“[Karmarama] will help us reshape how brands imagine, create, and deliver customer experiences,” said Brian Whipple, head of Accenture Interactive, in a press release.
This is just the latest in a series of acquisitions the company has made to reinforce end-to-end customer experience transformation solutions for Accenture Interactive.
Accenture has acquired several creative digital agencies over the past three years, including AD.Dialeto, Brazil’ independent Brazilian digital agency; Pacific Link, a set of independent digital agencies serving Hong Kong and Greater China; Chaotic Moon, an Austin, Texas-based creative technology studio; and Brightstep, a Swedish provider of digital content and commerce solutions.
Karmarama is likely to play an important role in the operation of Accenture’s Fjord design studio in Brazil.
Founded in 2000, Karmarama develops advertising campaigns, data-driven content and mobile platforms to build what it calls “immersive consumer experiences”. The creativeness of digital agencies helps technology consultancy firms like Accenture create better marketing strategies by making use of data analytics.
Jon Wilkins, who is Karmarama’s executive chairman, will likely take on an additional leadership role within Accenture Interactive following the acquisition.
“Karmarama will become part of the world’s largest digital agency, expanding our global capabilities across experience, marketing, content, and commerce with excellence in creative and mobile,” Whipple added.
