Jimmy Buffett’s fast-growing Margaritaville Holdings has chosen Belize as the spot for its newest hotel. The 71 residence condominium resort will open in Ambergris Caye in “early 2020”. The hotel will be housed in the Bacalar Chico Marine Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and will boast a mix of fully-furnished residences, each with a large veranda, and one, two or three bedrooms. The larger residences will boast jacuzzi tubs and “wraparound balconies” with views of the beach. Belize is benefiting from a boom in hotel development, with other properties such as the Four Seasons project on Caye Chapel and a pair of soon-to-be constructed Marriott-branded hotels.
