Reggae Sunsplash Festival Returns to Jamaica after 14-year Hiatus

After a 14-year absence, the groundbreaking Reggae Sunsplash Festival will return to Jamaican shores in November 2020. The festival will take place at Grizzly’s Plantation Cove, an outdoor venue located near Ocho Rios in the North. The well-loved festival was a firm favorite with reggae greats from its founding in 1978, when well-known bands like Burning Spear, Inner Circle, Third World, and Toots and the Maytals performed.

The festival enjoyed an uninterrupted run from then to its final year in 1996, with two one-off events in 1998 and 2006. Now under new ownership in the form of Guardsman Group Ltd., Reggae Sunsplash will be produced through its eMedia subsidiary Vertical Creative Ltd.

  • Just found my T-shirt, program and poster from Reggae Sunsplash 1978. I had the t-shirt and the program and today found the folded poster in an old photo album. Also have the large woven basket we bought in Montego Bay and carried around with us. Good memories. Any value to the concert items?
