United States BPO provider Cognosante has scaled up its operations in Fargo, North Dakota, with the launch of a new delivery center.
The 13,000-square-foot facility can accommodate up to 340 professionals providing call center and back-office services. The easy availability of trained workers prompted this latest expansion, according to the firm.
This is the company’s second major expansion this year inside the United States after it inaugurated an expansive call center in Phoenix, Arizona, earlier in January. Cognosante has been operating in Fargo for more than a decade.
“We are excited to see what the future holds as we continue to work toward transforming the nation’s healthcare system. Our continued growth and success requires talented teams of professionals and strong community ties,” said Michele Kang, CEO of Cognosante.
The McLean, Virginia-based outsourcing provider is one of the beneficiaries of the Affordable Care Act, better known as ObamaCare, which has given rise to a slew of contracts in the healthcare outsourcing services sector.
Cognosante is no doubt one of the major winners of contracts stemming from the government’s healthcare programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
Alongside customer service, some US states are also approaching BPO providers for technology services. In September last year, for an instance, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) awarded a contract to Cognosante to develop a technology platform for its healthcare program.
Under the Affordable Care Act, most Americans must be enrolled in some form of health coverage. Millions of people have already signed up, with states building online exchanges that buyers use to evaluate and select service providers.
